Look at what Jenni’s Class have been doing this week!

This week in Jenni’s class we have been learning about Chinese New year, we have learnt what our Chinese zodiac signs are and we have learnt to write “Good Luck” in Chinese. This year is the year of the Rabbit, we enjoyed hearing the story of how the animals became the symbols of each year based on how quickly they were able to pass over a river.  Our children have also been very lucky, throughout the last term and a half we have enjoyed regular Horse riding sessions. This week our students celebrated their successes whilst watching their friends enjoy the same feeling.

Look at what Lara’s Class have been doing!

n literacy this term we have been reading the book ‘Rosie’s Walk’. The children have enjoyed sequencing the story and following the Makaton signs. The children have also done some fabulous writing with illustrations of moments from the story. In Science we have been exploring a range of animals. We have enjoyed learning about their different habitats and discovering their unique markings. In art we explored how printing can be used to make patterns. We have used carved potatoes to make different animal markings. Finally in DT with have explored the different habitats of animals and have made our own. We have also been learning about puppets and have enjoyed creating and sharing our own puppets in class.
