This week in Maddi’s class we have enjoyed exploring Christmas activities and resources and new sensory experiences. We have made fruit candy canes, decorated Christmas trees, explored outside, and made a lot of lovely Christmas Art.

We have also all enjoyed our music sessions, playing drums and bells and joining in with ‘Jingle Bells’. We have practiced our listening and attention skills with musical chairs!

Our communication skills are continuing to develop, and we are able to have our wants and needs met through our interaction and engagement, both with peers and staff.

This term we have also enjoyed the sensory Christmas pantomime and enjoyed exploring wrapping paper and developing our fine and gross motor skills. We have practiced unwrapping presents and identifying ‘big’ and ‘small’ through this. We have enjoyed our number rhymes this term and explored counting and numbers in a variety of ways.

Story time is now a firm favourite, and we have all explored numerous books with different textures, pictures, and interactive flaps. We have enjoyed visits to the school library to choose books of our own. We have explored colour and mixing colours and have loved doing this whilst getting messy!

What a lovely first full academic term, we cannot wait to see what we get up to next year!
